Audience Impressions of Monday's Keynote Address- Jamie McKenzie

After Jamie McKenzie's keynote address on Monday, we spoke with a couple of teachers in the audience. We wanted to find out what they thought about Dr. McKenzie's information, and how they plan to integrate this content into their own classrooms.

Byrna Luyben-Cronk (Grade 2 teacher-
Cut Knife Elementary School
)

Mike Loran (Computer teacher at
Cut Knife High School)

What were your impressions of the keynote?

Byrna: I thought it was a great message; it got me thinking about how I teach, and how I can change the way I teach so that I can get students really thinking.

Mike: I thought it was very enlightening, and I never thought about different literacies. That’s what I liked the most, different literacies.

How will you apply what Dr. Mckenzie has said?

Byrna: I can look for ways to increase the literacies that I encourage in my students.

Mike: I will be looking at different literacies, and will be showing videos to my students for examples.
